Slashdot | House OKs Life Sentences For Hackers. I don't think increasing the stakes is going to deter curious teenagers... but more worrying is that no court order is needed to spy on people under the proposed bill. This sort of legal development sets a nasty precedent - add hysteria, remove peoples' rights.
