This is what technology promised us - Slashdot | Video Over IP Permits South Pole Surgery. Similar things have been done before; but it's still interesting. Although I have to wonder... if you can't get people in or out during the winter, wouldn't you want to have better facilities in the first place? It seems like a big risk to me.
