BBC NEWS | Health | 'Cruel' mouse music study blasted An experiment in which mice died after being given amphetamines and exposed to loud dance music has been criticised by the Home Office.
Animal rights activists are "outraged" at the treatment of mice in this study; as some died and others were brain damaged. Not nice for the mice, but I can understand why the research was done - basically they were simulating a rave. If the toxicity of a drug is increased by environmental factors, people need to know; it might prevent "party drug" related deaths. But then animal rights activists would probably argue that the tests should be done on humans. I wonder if they're volunteering to be the test subjects in future studies?
