- SFgate | Inventors patent ideas to pre-empt their rivals / Companies then must buy rights to the devices. Patents as weapons, basically. Or; you no longer have to actually create anything. Just patent the idea so you can screw money out of the people who do the work.
- Slashdot | Hints for Planning a Network Gaming Marathon. Interesting as an exercise in logistics, if nothing else.
- Slashdot | Microsoft Acquires RAV Antivirus. Step one: create massive holes which are exploited by viruses. Step two: bundle your products with an anti-virus system nobody's heard of; which will lull users into a false sense of security. Step three: continue charging too much for crap software. Ahh, why change... it's worked for them so far :) Besides that, I guess anything is better than nothing. Plus, MS will have that much more access to your machine while the updates are downloaded. They like being able to access your system (of course, so did lots of the viruses).
