President George W Bush has admitted that Iraqi forces were not ready to replace US-led troops and warned that Iraqi elections set for January 30 would not spell the end of deadly violence there.
- Phone wars could spell death for landline - Technology - www.smh.com.au. Well no, actually; massively overpriced landlines could spell death for landlines. I guess Telstra decided to make traditional landlines so expensive people would actually sign up to the next technology; which no doubt they'll overprice as well.

Democrat Senator Andrew Bartlett is continuing his hunger strike to show support for refugees in detention centres.
Uhhh.... this just makes the Democrats look like a university student union party.
