I have an idea.
All photocopiers, printers, faxes and especially "multi-function devices" (MFD, almost immediately renamed MotherF@!#%! Device) need a new feature.
On the front, at about shin level, put a big metal plate on shock absorbers. Hook it up so that when you give that bloody thing a good kick up the guts, it cycles the power.
You let off steam and you'll fix most problems....
